FUEL Foodie: Granola Chips
Granola is often thought of as a healthy, light breakfast choice or refuel snack. Although this is true not all granolas live up to its healthy reputation. Some granolas can pack as much fat or sugar as greasy bacon or doughnuts!! Often granola hides a dirty little secret in the ingredient list of high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. Please do not trust just any ole granola brand… Read the label!
But even when you find the perfect granola it isn’t the easiest thing to eat on the run. Let’s face it, it is much easier to pop open a bag of chips than worry with crumbly granola- until now! Willamette Valley has packed all the things I love about granola into an easy to eat yet delicious chip!
But these aren’t just any old chip. Granola Chips are all natural, non-GMO and filled with over 1/3 of your recommended daily whole grains from oats, barley, amaranth & quinoa. Naturally sweet without the sugar crash- only 5-6 grams of sugar in each serving!
They make an ideal snack for runners and the whole family. Athletes can enjoy a handful for a quick pre-workout snack to provide them with lasting energy. Or pair a serving with 2 Tbsp. of your favorite nut butter or yogurt to refuel and replenish after a weekend long run. Be sure to make time and try this new take on granola. Found locally here at Kroger.
Disclosure: I received free samples from Willamette Valley of the products mentioned in this post. However, this is not a paid advertisement and was selected at the editor’s discretion.
